- What is WiZ?
WiZ or Wireless Internet Zone is a new and exciting broadband Internet service from GlobeQUEST.
WiZ uses the IEEE 802.11 or Wi-Fi wireless networking standard. WiZ lets you connect to the Internet at broadband speeds using a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. Look for our WiZ logo at your favorite places and hangouts and get wirelessly connected fast! [CLOSE]
- What equipment do I need for WiZ?
You need to have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. If Wi-Fi is not built-in, you need to get a Wi-Fi client adapter to use with your laptop or PDA. [CLOSE]
- What is a HotSpot?
A HotSpot is a place where wireless Internet is available.
A WiZ HotSpot is a place where WiZ service is available. [CLOSE]
- What types of applications can I use in a WiZ HotSpot?
WiZ lets you connect wirelessly to the Internet at broadband speed. Not only can you use it to browse, but to also email, download files, chat, play games, and do remote office work. You can also run office intranet applications and VPNs over WiZ. Think of WiZ as letting you run the same applications you would normally run on a wired Internet connection wirelessly! [CLOSE]
- How much does WiZ cost?
WiZ is available in both
prepaid and postpaid plans.

Unlimited use, expires 24 hours after first use

Unlimited use, expires 7 days after first use

1. All plans allow one concurrent session
at-a-time only.
2. If you exceed the monthly hour consumable for
the Access 10, 30, 80, 170, or 300, excess rate
for both dial-up and WiFi usage is still P0.50/minute.

You can buy a Wi-Fi client adapter from computer stores and distributors like PCXpress.

- What brands of Wi-Fi client adapters will work with WiZ?
So far, these are brands that

- I have a laptop, Wi-Fi client adapter, and WiZ account? How do I connect to WiZ?
To connect to WiZ, first you need to be within indoor range of a WiZ HotSpot. Secondly, you need to have your Wi-Fi client adapter properly configured. If you satisfy both requirements, just open your web browser and WiZ will automatically ask for your username and password.

- Can I use my prepaid account or postpaid account in other HotSpots?
Yes, you can use your account in any WiZ HotSpot. [CLOSE]

- I still have some more questions. Whom can I ask for help?
- Can I check my usage online?
- I am either an existing GlobeQUEST dialup or DSL Solo customer. Do I still need to buy prepaid accounts or sign up for another postpaid plan?
With WiZ you can use the same username and password for your dialup or DSL Solo-WiFi (DSL Solo plan subscribers need to upgrade to DSL Solo-WiFi) plan and use WiZ in any of our HotSpots.
For Dial-up users, enter your dialup username followed by @globenet.com.ph. For DSL Solo-WiFi users, enter your DSL username followed by @dsl.globenet.com.ph. [CLOSE]
- My computer asks for a network name or SSID. What do I enter if I want to use WiZ?
The network name or SSID of WiZ is "globequest".
