WiZ via Globe Handyphone Frequently Asked Questions

- What is WiZ?
WiZ or Wireless Internet Zone is a new and exciting broadband Internet service from GlobeQUEST. WiZ uses the IEEE 802.11 or Wi-Fi wireless networking standard. WiZ lets you connect to the Internet at broadband speeds using a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. Look for our WiZ logo at your favorite places and hangouts and get wirelessly connected fast!
- How do I use WIZ if I'm a Globe Handyphone Subscriber?
If you are a postpaid Globe Handyphone subscriber, all you need to do is text WIZ<space>ON to 2333 or dial *9910 and a 24 hour username and password will be sent to you. Your default username is your Handyphone mobile number. Your password is valid up to 24 hours from the time you received the first SMS reply.
- How much do I spend for each WIZ request or command?
You are charged P2.50 for every WIZ SMS request.
- How much do I spend for WIZ usage?
WiZ usage costs P2.00/minute. This service is usage based, which means, you will only pay for the Wi-Fi minutes you consumed.
- How do I get billed?
- How do I log-in?
To login, simply type the username together with the @myglobe realm, for example:
Username: 9175888667@myglobe
Password: (8 Character alphanumeric)
- How do I log-out?
To logout, type http://logout.globe.com.ph or http://logout.globequest.com.ph in the address bar of your browser.
- How long can I use the log-in password?
As a security feature, the password is valid up to 24 hours from the time of receipt of the SMS. To get a new password after 24 hours, you will have to make another SMS request.
- What happens if I accidentally delete the SMS, can I request for a new one?
Should you accidentally delete the SMS reply, you can retrieve your username and password by repeating WIZ<space>ON or dialing *9910. You will get the same username and password so long as it is within 24 hours from the time of you first received the SMS. You will be charged P2.50 for every SMS or dial request.
- What equipment do I need for WiZ?
You need to have a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA. If Wi-Fi is not built-in, you need to get a Wi-Fi client adapter to use with your laptop or PDA.
- What is a HotSpot?
A HotSpot is a place where wireless Internet is available. A WiZ HotSpot is a place where WiZ service is available.
- What types of applications can I use in a WiZ HotSpot?
WiZ lets you connect wirelessly to the Internet at broadband speed. Not only can you use it to browse, but to also email, download files, chat, play games, and do remote office work. You can also run office intranet applications and VPNs over WiZ. Think of WiZ as letting you run the same applications you would normally run on a wired Internet connection wirelessly!
- Where can I buy a Wi-Fi client adapter?
You can buy a Wi-Fi client adapter from computer stores and distributors like PCXpress. GlobeQUEST is working with Wi-Fi makers to make them more easily available.

- What brands of Wi-Fi client adapters will work with WiZ?

Generally speaking, any Wi-Fi certified client adapter should work with WiZ.
- I have a laptop, Wi-Fi client adapter, and WiZ account? How do I connect to WiZ?
To connect to WiZ, first you need to be within indoor range of a WiZ HotSpot. Secondly, you need to have your Wi-Fi client adapter properly configured. If you satisfy both requirements, just open your web browser and WiZ will automatically ask for your username and password. If you are having a difficult time configuring your Wi-Fi client adapter, refer to our Wi-Fi client adapter setup guide or contact customer service for assistance (Manila: 79-SUPRT (7978778), VisMin: 1-8008-79-SUPRT (78778), or customersupport@globequest.com.ph).
- Whom can I call if my account doesn't work?
You may contact customer service from any Globeline or GlobeHandyphone at 79-SUPRT (7978778) (Manila), 1-8008-79-SUPRT (78778) (VisMin), or customersupport@globequest.com.ph).
- Where can I find WiZ HotSpots?
- Can I check my usage online?
You can check your Wi-Fi usage online at the http://wiz.globequest.com.ph. You can also check your current WIZ usage by texting WIZ<space>USAGE or dial *9912 on your Globe Handyphone line.
- My computer asks for a network name or SSID. What do I enter if I want to use WiZ?
The network name or SSID of WiZ is "globequest".
